Reflection of Change Over Time
My philosophy has not changed very much over time. I can see there are places in it that I have gained more knowledge. For example, in instructional strategies I talked about learning math by drilling over and over. I know there are better ways to learn math than drilling and worksheets. Playing games and participating in other activities are much more rewarding than worksheets. I still believe that basic knowledge is needed as a foundation to create lifelong experiences. There is still room for my philosophy to change but for now it remains close to the same as it was three years ago. Over time there will be more research that changes techniques and curriculum, but the basics will always be the basis for my classroom.
